Holidays
are a time when everyone seems to get inspired to do something in the kitchen.
No matter what time of year, holidays are the perfect time to take a break. Don't worry about being the chef of the season. Go relax and have fun in the kitchen.
I have included many of the recipes for my mother's Bavarian Christmas cookies. You won't find these in most cookbooks.
One of her Christmas Cookie secrets is to include ground nuts in your cookie doughs.
The other great cookie secret is to make the cookies a week or two in advance and then store them in cookie tins with a wedge of apple. The apple softens and keeps the cookies moist while imbuing them with a special flavor that you can't get any other way!
